Diwali Dhamaka

" Diwali ka tyohaar hai aur log Jashn mana rahe hai......."

A little cliched but not too extravagant for the ongoing festival .
Diwali - oft referred to as the festival of light - brings joy and hope to the people of India . People eagerly await for this one festival to let loose their joy...........

As we walk down the streets , we see porches of house adorned with artistic forms of "Rangoli".... and the traditional diyas .

Men have no care for the world , for this time is when families get together and celebrate in oneness . But some are not as fortunate ........ there is no celebration in their house . Maybe , because of the demise of a loved one ......... I had never seen peoples misfortune in this light until I was made aware of this through MR . Bachhan's blog ..... great man indeed.

The bursting of fire crackers is traditional , although many people are obviously unaware the obvious significance behind the act. "The burning of Evil ..... and the dawn of a new goodwill "

People oft subsidize the effort that goes into this unique festival .... One of a kind indeed .
There is a sense of austerity in the air and the feeling of ........ joy is just so rampant that few can oft escape from its clutches .

Even as i write ......... the sound of crackers fill the night sullen air , with a dry eerie sense of longing . For tomorrow , there shall be no enjoyement , no celebration , as if a clock has been turned backward , rather forward , as men return to their Monotonous life of labour , student return to their temple of education , and children are yet unaware why we had to burst crackers .

In all such joy , such fancy , we forget those lives of the temple preists , well thaey had a lot of work to o today didn't they ....
Maybe more than they usually do , but they don't complain , cause they are drenched in the fore joy of worshiping the goddess Mahalaxmi , the bringer of wealth , or so it is told . For them , the celebration is not about candles diya or crackers , it goes farther beyond them , the very spiritual significance of the festivity , comming of Ram , celebrated throughout as a sense of pride , of defeat of good over Evil .The age old fight , oft repeated in history , and oft recorded in scriptures , Ramayana , Mahabharata , Even the bible , khoran , Tohrah .......

Then again , darkness prevails over light .... is what we have been imparted since childhood , the very genre of this festival reflects this ancient truth ..... But none contemplate , none reflect ...Because they have no time from their busy lives ... mechanical .. modern ... thats the names that we give to our generation .. as an excuse for our loss at culture , loss at our life's values

Have we forgotten what we really are , have we ? If we have we can only hope that such festivals remind us of our path and serve as a becon .....

Until then taking leave ........

Amit
