Recollect

I recollect , the first dew ,
That brightened my eyes,
Its glimmering surface ,
and that the back of a mice.

I recollect , my first fall ,
Although too long
Fading away from memory ,
Just as an old song.

I recollect , my friends
and i did realize ,
That there were few who were true
But others wove lies.

I recollect , the first rays of the sun
striking earth with utmost gentleness ,
Breaks the atmosphere into a riot of colors
and power which we ought to harness.

I recollect , my first song
About a rats and cats,
Very primeval , doing what they best do ,
Hiding under rats and mats.

I recollect , my first crush
I didn't know then
The meaning of love ,
I didn't want to know and i wouldn't listen

But as i sit in contemplation,
I recollect you the most,
what you meant to me ,
and probably will mean the same to my ghost.

I recollect , thine beauty ,
Then I did slumber
No wake nor path,
For all that was sombre.

To these and these measure,
I never said a word to thee
Although my heart burnt
And my love prayed to be set free.

Yet i contained my heart ,
For all that is good ,
And watched you walk right past me .
Thinking of of me as some lewd.

And as i sit in contemplation ,
I know not what to recollect ,
For after you went away
There was not much to collect
