Crisis Report – Bretton Woods Council
Vietnam and France
“Delegates we have a crisis!” was the unexpected and shocking statement which the delegates heard when the Deputy General Secretary barged through the doors of the Bretton Woods council. According to the reports presented by the World Press Iran has changed its policies and has started inclining towards leftist countries. It also seems that this decision is a result of the pressure which was laid on Iran by China and the USSR. The house then unanimously decided to have a discussion of the crisis. The delegates of Argentina, Philippines, France and Saudi Arabia condemned this move which was taken by Iran, however the delegates of USSR and China believe that this move has been taken by Iran due to the realization of the potential advantages of becoming a socialist (and to a certain extent a Communist) nation.
1st Update:-“ Iran has started devaluing its currency. Its state head had just given a statement “We refuse to recognize any foreign debt. All claims by any country on our assets are illicit”
During the Period of Point of Information, the delegate of Haiti and USSR have been able to conclude that since the Economy of Iran is closed and that this problem would have not affected the global community as much as the Executive Bench of the Bretton Woods council have predicted it to be.
2nd Update:- “ The French President stated that “Our Iranian Allies have been misled into adopting Socialism which follows a very unstable economic policy. France and USA are willing to offer a helping hand to reconstruct Capitalist system. USSR and China condemn this move. “
During the proceedings, the Delegate of Haiti was stifled with the inconsistency in the Press Report presented by the spokesperson. The delegate of Haiti established a fact that there was an inconsistency in the religious policies followed by Iran. The delegate of Iran stated that the devaluation of currency was done purely to make itself a welfare state, thereby not causing great harm to the global community also because it was a global economy.
The Un-moderated caucus which was supposed to allow the various delegates to have peaceful, organized talks regarding the formation of a resolution turned into a true verbal arena which was deemed sexist by a certain delegate.
